Kapil Ralli: Photography is the exact moment where an image is captured that immortalizes history or someone for posterity
***»There are no rules for good photographs, they are only good photographs»***
Since the world knew that moments could be stopped and captured in images, the history of humanity changed forever, making this invention the most revolutionary that has been able to evolve over the years, from black and white images, to those of color that preceded and what today is considered a wonderful art that we have for many concepts. But for a photograph to be considered a work of art, it must possess compositional skills and a broad technical and aesthetic domain, not only because it is a beautiful image, it will be considered a work of art, but in addition to being beautiful, it transmits to all the idea that conceptualizes it be it an emotion or a concept, in this report we present one of its most faithful modern exponents who triumphs and shines through his flash and the capture of his lenses in works of art to enjoy.
He is Kapil Ralli, a full-fledged professional, born and raised in India, where when living in that heavenly place made him create sensations from childhood that promoted his sensitivity and emphasized his future life project. He moved to the United States in 2008, worked in New York for more than 11 years until moving to the city of Dallas in 2020. Despite the world of photography not being among his plans before arriving in the United States, this passion turned into a profession that awakened during his stay in the Big Apple – NY.
Kapil tells us, «The more I got into the world of photography, the more serious I became«, he is certified at the Institute of Photography in New York, and from the beginning it was made in his hands with an authentic professional photographic equipment. Already at that moment he began to observe things differently. «The light, the colors, the texture, the angles, the point of view, the story«. He tells us that he evolved over time, over the years he already has publications in more than 40 magazines, such as; “Vanity, Moevir and Flannele (French magazines), Lucy, Elegant, Ellements, Opium, Pump and Selin«, among others.
Color and imagination merge into recreated images…
His themes are fusions that empty the colors that distinguish him in his compositions. The art of recreating images has led him to dabble in the Venus Verticordia, one of Rosetti’s pictorial works, he also intervened in John Millais’s «Maid of Honor«, and the no less famous Diana The Huntress by Guillaume Seignac. These recreated images combine a series that mark concepts of photographic versionism based on the intervention of famous works, where Kapil shows us his versatility and constant imagination in the art of composite photography.
From super heroes, to heroines with and without a cape…
Kapil does not stay in a single concept or genre, his restless lens captures moments, places, models and spaces, from sports to an artistic nude are part of the accused reflection, the same that makes a girl be the center of attraction with a flower or a soccer ball, heroines and superheroes have had their space in a wide catalog of endless sessions that advocate a radical and different concept, making compositions in stories posed by their models in works of the immortalized, is one of the his passions that we observe in his extensive photographic style.
They are concepts captured between the lines of Kapil…
(collected from his lines inserted in his social media posts, which made a great impression on us)
“Put your heart in what you do. This theme was inspired by the Waterhouse mermaid. This is my take on his painting as a huge fan of art.
The backdrop for this image is real. It was hand painted by Dallas-based painter Julian. It took him 4 days (more than 25 hours) to paint this masterpiece. It is not a Photoshop shortcut, his vision and passion shows in every inch of this painting. He is the true creator of this masterpiece ”, he wrote in his post where a beautiful mermaid was the center of attention captured by our wonderful lens artist.
